Morten Løbner Espersen
Morten Løbner Espersen (1965, Aalborg, Denmark) creates mostly simple, traditional forms because
his attention is focused on the granular, rough skin of his works.
He creates this skin by glazing and firing his objects several times, his purpose being to make ceramics
and heat cooperate to create unique surfaces and textures. Therefore his objects look different depending
on the angle they're seen from.,BR>
In the past, Espersen experimented with glazing techniques,
but found he could not reproduce his best results.
This used to frustrate him, but meanwhile he has learned to appreciate it.
Espersen has surrendered control to his objects.
